Howell City Park

Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Howell City Park. Whether you want to take a walk, play on the swings, picnic with family or friends, or enjoy the fun and sun in the water at the Beach at Howell City Park! There is something for everyone.

The park is open from from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The park entrance booth is staffed from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on weekdays, weekends and holidays. The concession stand will be open every day from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Please note that staffing schedule may change due to inclement/severe weather and staffing hours before June 15th at the Park Guard Booth will be from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday - Friday and 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

Starting in May, all vehicles must have a valid Season Park sticker or Day Launch permit in order to enter the park.

Note: There is no lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.

City Park Entrance Stickers
City of Howell residents – If you receive a water bill, you will get one Howell City Park sticker with your April/May water bill. If your property is a rental, you are responsible to give the park sticker to your renter. If you desire more park stickers, you may pick one up at the Howell City Hall by showing proof of residency to get one additional free park sticker. City Hall, 2nd Floor Finance office is open - Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Oceola Township residents – Howell City Park stickers are available by contacting the Oceola Township Hall at 517/546-3259. Pick up stickers at Oceola Township Hall during regular business hours - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Marion and Genoa Township residents – You may purchase an annual pass by going to the Howell City Hall at 611 E. Grand River and show proof of residency to purchase your park sticker. Not at their Township Halls. Prices listed below.

Stickers will also be available at the park entrance booth, with proof of residency.

Residents in Genoa, Marion Township and Non Residents may purchase a day pass or a season pass. Below are the prices for both daily and seasonal passes:

Pavilion Rentals
All requests for Pavilion Rentals at the Howell Area Recreation Authority office at 925 W.Grand River Ave., Monday - Thursday 9 - 5 p.m., Friday 9 - 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 - 1 p.m. 517/546-0693 EXT. 0

Three pavilions are available. There are two large pavilions that each hold 100. The small pavilion holds 25. The pavilions are available for rent from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Great for those company picnics or family reunions!

Rental Fees are:

  • Large Pavilions:
    • Weekday $50/day
    • Weekend $75 /day
  • Small Pavilion:
    • Weekday $25/day
    • Weekend $50 /day

Howell City Park Rules and Policies
Please abide by the following rules at all times

  • Vehicles with trailers are not allowed.
  • All motor vehicles are restricted to park roadways.
  • Park only in designated areas.
  • The pavilion(s) may be reserved through the Howell Recreation Authority and entitles renter exclusive use during the hours reserved.
  • Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
  • No glass containers allowed in the beach area.
  • Pets must be kept on a leash.
  • Pets are not allowed in the beach area.
  • Ground fires are illegal.
  • Camping is prohibited.
  • Vending and Peddling is not permitted.
  • No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted.
  • The posting of signs is illegal.
  • Boat launching in the park is not permitted.
  • Patrons of the park must conduct themselves in an orderly fashion.
  • No Smoking at the beach.
  • No Feeding Wild Animals.
