Senior Center Coordinator Needed
Looking to join the fun and creative staff of the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority? We are currently searching for a Senior Center Coordinator! This position oversees, plans and organizes recreation programs for senior adults over the age of 50 including special events, enrichment classes, travel, and fitness. Strong written and oral communication skills necessary as this position also requires grant writing, newsletter editing and production, and presentations. This is a part-time 20 hour/week position, generally from 10am – 2pm daily (some evening and weekend hours may be required.) A job description and further information can be found by clicking here. Due to the nature of our work, we require background checks on our instructors. We are an official member of the National Recreation and Park Association's Operation TLC² Making Communities Safe. This is a national initiative to advance the leadership role of parks and recreation in their effort to make their communities safer by implementing national guidelines for properly qualifying and credentialing volunteers.
The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority adopted a policy for qualifying and credentialling our work force that can be downloaded by clicking here. Before each season begins, our coaches, instructors and other volunteers, will undergo a background check and then be issued a name badge that will expire in a year.
