The Headless Horseman 5K is BACK and SPOOKIER than ever! This nighttime event will be in-person and kick off at State and Clinton Streets in beautiful Downtown Howell. Costumed participants will wind their way through the historic neighborhoods and in Scofield City Park. Participants will receive a long sleeve shirt if registered by the end of the day on October 7th. 

This year's race will have a Wave Start with runners starting in waves every 5 minutes over the course of a 1/2 hour. Each wave will have a max number of participants. The participants will be required to pick which wave time slot they want when registering. This will allow for participants to be spaced out at the start of the race, along the course and at the finish line. Walkers, strollers, assistive devices, and dogs on 6ft leashes are welcome. 

Please note that funds from this program help to cover not only costs incurred from the program itself but also help to make the Legend of Sleepy Howell possible. This longstanding community event offers a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience and helps especially those kids living in rural areas. Thank you for your support!

UPDATED PACKET PICKUP:

Early Packet pick up will occur on Tuesday-Thursday, Oct 19-21 from 8am-8pm, and Friday, Oct 22nd from 8am-1pm at the Oceola Community Center at 1661 N Latson Road, Howell. 

Please note that the Oceola Community Center will be closing at 1pm On Friday, October 22nd for our staff to work Legend.

On-site packet pickup will start at 5pm at the corner of State & Clinton St. on race day.
