UPDATE REGARDING STREET SHOES:
Fall and winter weather brings all sorts of rain, mud, snow and salt that can damage the gymnasium floors. Street shoes are not permitted when using the courts. Please bring an extra pair of shoes to wear when using the gym space at the Oceola Community Center. Thanks for your understanding and patience!
The Oceola Community Center Sports Calendar is set up for the current month. Below is a list of which sports are set up for each day.

Leagues
Chair Volleyball (All Ages)
Looking for a fun and inclusive way to stay active? Join us for Chair Volleyball – a thrilling twist on the classic game that’s perfect for all ages and abilities! Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or new to the game, Chair Volleyball offers a fantastic opportunity to improve coordination, enhance mobility, and enjoy some friendly competition with friends and family!
This game will be played with a beach volleyball and a five foot net! Rules will be similar to regular volleyball except you may remain seated the whole time.

Co-Ed Youth Fall Soccer
Soccer registration Closes July 10th.

Learn the sport of soccer in this fun, welcoming environment that’s great for new players or returning players.
Looking to pick up some new skills? Games are played at the Oceola Soccer Complex (1577 N. Latson Rd.).
Practices are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, OR Thursday (1 day a week) ALL from 6-8 PM and games on Saturday mornings between 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM.
Please note siblings in same or other age groups during registration.
*No games: 8/31 (Labor Day Weekend).
Co-Ed Ages 3-4
(League begins 8/24. No Weekday practices; Games Saturdays The first half-hour is practice, the second half-hour is a game.

About Howell Recreation Youth Sports
The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority’s Youth Sports Program is designed to allow youth the opportunity to participate in various sporting activities in a non-competitive environment. All athletes get an equal amount of attention and playing time regardless of ability. All programs are first-come, first-served. Programs can fill to capacity before the deadline. Random placement determines all teams. A $10 late fee will be applied to all late registrations based on availability.
Vouchers for $35 will be given to Youth Sports volunteer coaches in good standing at the end of the season.
Girls Basketball (1st-6th Grade)
Registration opens July 24th
First Practice - Week of September 30th
First Game – October 10th
This Howell Girls Youth Basketball League will play at the Oceola Community Center. Practices will be held once per week on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday from 6pm-8pm.
Games will be held on Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm.
Our leagues depend on Parent Volunteer Coaches. We appreciate all of the help and hard work put in to this league and would love to have your support!

1st-2nd Grade
League runs September 30th - November 21st
Practices will be held once per week on Monday or Tuesday from 6pm-8pm. Games will be held on Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm.
3rd-4th Grade
League runs September 30th - November 21st
Practices will be held once per week on Monday or Tuesday from 6pm-8pm. Games will be held on Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm.
5th-6th Grade
League runs September 30th - November 21st
Practices will be held once per week on Monday or Tuesday from 6pm-8pm. Games will be held on Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm.
Women’s Volleyball League (18+)
The Howell Recreation Women’s Volleyball League features players 18 years of age and older; we will play at the Oceola Community Center. Games will be held on Wednesday evenings with start times from 7:00pm-10:00pm.
Depending on number of teams single elimination tournament could start December 13th.
*Until further notice: Games will be self-officiated*

Cost: $350 team (Resident) / $400 team (Non-Resident) (no more than 12 players per team)

Wednesdays, October 9th - December 11th

Men’s Basketball League (30+)
Howell Recreation’s Men’s 30+ Basketball League is a chance for men over the age of 30 to get in the gym and participate in friendly, competitive fun. This league will feature official referees that will call fouls, manage the clock, and keep score. Games will consist of two, 20-minute halves.
*Each team will be required to pay officials $40 (cash) before the start of each game*
Single Elimination Tournament starts January 4th (depending on number of teams)

Cost: $600 team (Resident) / $650 team (Non-Resident) (no more than 12 players per team)
