Registration Information

All registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis - payment must accompany registration.  Due to the nature of our fee structure, we reserve the right to ask for address verification from all participants.  We accept cash, money orders, checks, and/or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover).  Checks should be made payable to: Howell Area Parks & Recreation.  We do not accept post-dated checks and a $50 fee will be assessed for returned checks.  Some classes may require an additional fee for materials and supplies.  Be sure to review the refund policy below before registering for any class.

Resident Status

Patrons who live in the City of Howell, Oceola, Marion, Genoa, or Howell Townships who are also in the Howell School District are considered “Residents” and are eligible for a “Resident Rate” on many programs. All other townships are considered “Non-Resident”.

Beginning in January of 2025, Non-Residents may purchase a Recreation Passport for $100/person that entitles them to the Resident rate for the duration of that calendar year.

Scholarship Information

The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to children who wish to participate in our recreational activities and programs.  While it is our intent to provide recreational activities to all residents, limitations of how much scholarship assistance families can utilize have been put into place to ensure that each deserving child will be able to participate in at least one activity per year. Scholarships are only available to residents of the City of Howell, Oceola, Genoa, Marion, and Howell Townships.  For more information, please click here

Cancellations

The Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority reserves the right to cancel an activity due to low enrollment. Participants will have the opportunity to enroll in another activity if space is available.  If an activity or class is cancelled due to inclement weather or circumstances beyond our control, the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority will make every effort to reschedule the activity.  Watch our website and social media posts for current cancellations.  Howell Area Parks & Recreation reserves the right to change information for its programs without notice.  If you have a question about one of our programs, call the Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority.

Refunds & Vouchers

I understand and agree to the following cancellation and refund policy.  Refunds and credits may take up to 3 weeks to process.  Rental contract refunds and cancellations follow the contract terms.

If Howell Area Parks & Recreation Authority cancels an entire program, participants will be given a full refund.  Refunds will be issued based on your original method of payment except cash transactions will be issued as checks.

Participants who choose to be removed from a program prior to the close of registration will be issued a credit to their Recreation account minus a $10.00 cancellation fee.  After the close of registration, no credits will be granted. Credits can only be used by family members on the user’s account and are valid for 1 year.  The following are NOT eligible for credits at any time: one day programs, tuition, drop-in programs, memberships, sponsorships, travel, and team registrations.  Registrations are not allowed to be transferred to other customers for any reason.
